Colombia's science and technology sector is a dynamic and growing sector that generates approximately 100,000 direct jobs. Its most relevant subsectors are research and development (R&D), information technology outsourcing (ITO), technological education, and innovation.
Science and technology museums, such as Maloka in Bogotá and Parque Explora in Medellín, play a fundamental role in promoting science and technology, which are considered critical for the country's economic and social development. Colombian government is promoting the development of the sector through policies and programs such as the National Plan for Science, Technology, and Innovation (PNCTI) and the National System for Science, Technology, and Innovation (SINCTI).
Interlaken® has extensive experience working with leading companies in the sector through our three business units:
- From 2017 to 2021, we were members of the Board of Directors of the Sena BPO/KPO/ITO Sectoral Table, serving as Vice President of the Board and contributing to the design of competency development processes for the sector and the required public-private collaboration.
- From 2018 to 2020, we worked with Axiacore on various processes to strengthen Power Skills, such as teamwork and leadership.
- From 2019 to 2020, we worked with Recaudo Bogotá, the company responsible for managing the Integrated Collection, Fleet Control, and User Information System, which is part of Bogotá's Integrated Public Transport System (SITP), on the design and execution of the Leadership School.
- From 2019 to 2020, we worked with Maloka on various processes: defining strategic objectives, conducting a situational analysis of the governance model, providing advice on organizational structure, and particularly on contingency operations during the pandemic, which allowed us to bring "Science at Home" to 20,000 children who could not visit the museum.
