Colombia's tourism sector is a dynamic and growing sector that plays an important role in the country's economy. In 2022, the sector represented 2.1% of Colombia's GDP, generating more than 2.5 million direct jobs.

Its most relevant subsectors are:

  • Inbound tourism: includes travel by foreign tourists to Colombia. In 2022, represented 68% of the value added of the sector.
  • Domestic tourism: includes travel by Colombian citizens within the country. In 2022, represented 32% of the value added of the sector.

The Colombian government is promoting the development of the tourism sector through policies and programs, such as the Tourism Sector Plan 2023-2030. The Tourism Sector Plan aims to increase inbound tourism to 5 million tourists in 2030.
